Google Search Results in its own search Results

If google are going to pontificate to the rest of us then surely it should get its own house in order.

Matt Cutts in this post says "In general, we’ve seen that users usually don’t want to see search results (or copies of websites via proxies) in their search results."

So why then are google returning google maps search results?

woking map

You can see that a google maps search is clearly returned, I tried the search 10 times and once it did not show but 9 times it did, in postions varying from 13 to 26.

As you can see this is clearly a case of Google returning search results from one of its owns sites in its SERPS.

I know its not a big issue as this is very lowly searched term however it piss's me off as they have already taken serp one if you do type in "woking map".

Yet again its shows that they are willing to penalise other sites if they make mistakes yet they make them constantly and continue to grab more and more of the serps for themselves in order to not only own the first but also second click.

Google should change its motto to "do as we say not as we do".

yes I know this is not news, its just a rant....
